HP uses specific drivers to handle shortcut keys (like brightness, volume, and airplane mode).

If your HP laptop’s function keys (F1–F12) have stopped working or require you to hold the "Fn" key when they used to work with a single press, you likely need to update your drivers or software.

Run the .exe file and restart your computer.

Right-click the Start button > Device Manager > Keyboards . Right-click "HID Keyboard Device," select Uninstall , and restart your PC. Windows will automatically reinstall it.
