F-14a — Tomcat 'link'

Interestingly, the F-14A's most prolific combat record belongs to the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF). During the 1980s, Iranian Tomcats claimed dozens of Iraqi aircraft kills, proving the platform's dominance even with limited support.

The F-14 was the only aircraft capable of carrying this 1,000-pound missile. With a range exceeding 100 miles, it allowed the Tomcat to intercept threats before they could even see the carrier fleet. f-14a tomcat
